Fundraising Idea: Dodgeball Tournament

Posted this in another topic, but thought I’m make it it’s own topic so it doesn’t detract from the original conversation!

If you need ideas for fundraising, our environmental club came up with some fun, green ideas if your interested:

Dodgeball tournament:
5 vs. 5 (or however many people on a team)
Standard rules (can find them online)
$5 entry per person (so $25 per team)
Can take place in a gym if you have one, or if you don’t, outside.
Whoever wins goes onto the next round, etc. All profit goes to the Greenhouse.
$3 entry fee to watch, (so best if in gym.)
Have it after school on a Friday, (or later Friday night) or on Saturday night for maximum turnout.
Really encourage the students to participate, and then come watch the fun (will get maximum profit that way) and have a few teacher teams.
Play loud music, popular music (because it will be mostly student turnout) (play clean music though of course)
Have a table set up with the standings hanging beside it, and at the table have a few people selling Skyguides. (see fundraising forum) and have a tip jar set up so people can donate extra money if they wish.
I recommend having some prize, hopefully something eco-friendlyish for the winning team. I can’t think of anything. Probably something under $10 each, but if you can get a bike shop or something to sponsor you, you might be able to give away five bikes if you make it work, (and post posters of the company at the event, etc.)

I know it sounds like a kind of random idea, but we think it’ll be fun. And profitable.

Just one, I’ll post more later! Hope it helps! And if you try it, let me know how it goes! We are thinking of doing it this spring.
