On November 18th, student volunteers helped to screw in 50,000 energy saving L.E.D. light bulbs. The bulbs were replacing permanent festive lighting for UMD’s Ordean Court.
On September 12, three members of the Student Sustainability Coalition represented the UMD Office of Sustainability at the Harvest Festival and Energy Fair.

Students in Professor David Syring’s class recently spent a semester researching waste/recycling operations at UMD, along with campus behaviors and attitudes about waste management.
The UMD Library now has two Kill a Watt meters available for one-week loan periods. The kit includes an easy-to-use meter (plug and read!) and complete instructions.

Last Thursday (2/5/09), over 150 students showed up to watch a webcast and participate in the National Teach-in on Climate Change – along with hundreds of colleges universities across the nation.
