- Urban Forestry

Those interested in becoming GreenCorps members may apply this summer, with selections to be made by mid-August 2009. GreenCorps members will work for 11 months from September 2009 through July 2010.

A stipend of $11,400 will be provided for full-time GreenCorps members, as well as an education-related award of $4,725 for those completing their term of full-time service. (This education award can be used to pay for student loans or higher education costs.) Health insurance will be offered.

Preferred qualifications are: 4 year BA/BS degree or higher in environmental-related studies, urban planning/community development, engineering, architecture, social sciences, education or communications.

Please contact greencorps@pca.state.mn.us if you would like to be notified when applications are invited for positions, probably in late June 2009. Local governments and community-based nonprofits that are interested in hosting GreenCorps members are also encouraged to contact us, and applications forms for these host sites will be available later in June.
