Project Green Fleet Seeks New School Bus Partners

Funding has been secured to retrofit approximately 1,000 school buses across Minnesota with diesel oxidation catalysts (DOC) and closed-crankcase filtration systems (CCFS). These technologies are verified, cost-effective and low maintenance. Over forty school districts and 1,450 school buses have already participated in the program. Contact Emily Franklin at 612-334-3388 ×114 to start the process of retrofitting your fleet!

Interested in reducing your fleet’s diesel emissions? Join the nearly 60 organizations that have participated in our retrofit, repower and idle-reduction efforts through Project Green Fleet. Here is how the process works- To get started, fill out your contact information and submit our online form by clicking http://www.projectgreenfleet.org/contact/index.html A staff member will work with you to gather information about your fleet and will provide fleet information to one of Project Green Fleet’s contracted equipment vendors. The equipment vendor will analyze the fleet, determine what pollution control equipment is needed and develop an installation plan for the equipment based on your individual needs. MEI staff will place an order for the equipment. It takes 4-6 weeks for equipment to be manufactured and shipped. Installation of the equipment can be completed by trained installers or by the fleet owner or operator. The equipment vendor will provide training to fleets that want to complete installations in house. Project Green Fleet covers the cost of installation, installation training and diesel emission reduction equipment. view more Central Region news >view more Metro Region news >view more Northeast Region news >view more Northwest Region news >view more Southeast Region news >view more Southwest Region news >view more West-central Region news >
