College offers ‘Green AA’ degree

Central Lakes College in Brainerd and Staples has announced that starting with the Fall 2009 semester it will offer a dramatically redesigned schedule of classes. CLC students seeking an Associate in Arts degree will be able to do so one of three basic ways:

Monday-Wednesday-Friday classes
Tuesday-Thursday classes
Online
Students are free to choose any mix of the above, and most should be able to limit the number of days they are required to commute to campus.

The college instituted the new schedule options to allow students to save gas, save money, reduce their carbon footprint, limit the amount of day-care needed, and free up time for work, family and friends. Registration for summer and fall is under way, with EZ Enrollment Days for new students scheduled April 16 and 30 in Brainerd as well as other days on both campuses into August.
