Minnesota Schools Cutting Carbon

This article features students of North and Tartan High Schools in the Metro Region using light meters to measure the foot candle levels emitted by ceiling lights and windows during the Next Step Program World Interest Class held at Next Step. The “Electrolights,” the North High “green” team, also have used instruments to measure temperature and kilowatt usage when conducting building assessments. The students are working to create innovative solutions that reduce their school’s energy use and carbon emissions. A grant was provided from Minnesota Schools Cutting Carbon for North and Tartan High Schools.
