The Associate in Arts Program at Itasca Community College presented a speaker series on climate change as part of a global effort to raise awareness about and promote international cooperation to address climate change issues. University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Chemist Dr. Jim Phillips kicked off the series with a talk providing an overview of climate change and of the evidence of human causation. In the second program, US Forest Service Research Ecologist Dr. John Bradford examined the impact of climate change on northern forests. Dr. Bob Conzemius, Senior Atmospheric Scientist for WindLogics, a firm that consults internationally on wind-energy projects, completed the series with a talk exploring the role of wind energy in reducing emissions of carbon dioxide.
