To educate the public on the importance of lowering our carbon footprint.
A 2.88 Kilowatt array was installed at Two Harbors High School in the fall of 2008. The funding for this array came from many different sources including grants, rebates and in-kind labor. The THHS Enviro Club helped raise some of the money for this project. This array has already offset 1 ton of carbon dioxide. The array is a great educational tool and demonstration not only for students at THHS but for the community.
To educate students and the community on the benefit or renewable energies and to offset the carbon dioxide emissions of Two Harbors High School.
The envirothon is an opportunity for students to learn about and demonstrate knowledge of natural resources. There are 6 learning stations: soils, aquatics, forestry, wildlife, current event and oral presentation. This year’s oral presentation and current event was biodiversity. This year in our district there were 30 teams. The top 3 teams advanced to the state envirothon.
