Earth Hour 2010: UMD students raise energy awareness with acoustic carbon-free music.
On Earth Hour, UMD students celebrated in style. Resident Advisors in the UMD dorms organized an acoustic open mic night, and attention was raised about energy issues and greenhouse gas emissions at UMD.
An acoustic concert was held and 12 people played at the open mic night. Sixty students attended and 12 people got up on stage to play acoustic music for the crowd. UMD greenhouse gas inventory results were on display, energy-saving ideas were discussed, and Earth-friendly prizes were given out during the event.
