Sustainability week – Each theme will have a two hour table block from 12pm-2pm (have information, grab items, and prizes) in the SC to interact with students
Monday – Food theme – plus sustainability poster session
Tuesday – Hygiene theme – Also Ross Hier (MN DNR) will speak on his India trip in youngquest Auditorium 6pm
Wednesday – Water consumption theme – plus Minnesota Schools Cutting Carbon program will be on campus 8:30am-11:30am and Richard Strong (U of M Center for Sustainable design) will speak on “What has Green to do with me” at 7pm in Kiehle auditorium What’s On Wedneday (W.O.W) event.
Thursday – Transportation theme – plus Erick Castle will be doing a Critical Mass bike ride at 5:30 Crookston High School parking lot.
Friday – Household energy – plus a Nature Nook dedication, Amy Short (Sustainability Coordinator from U of M) and Kathleen O’Brian (U of M Vis- chancellor) will be on campus 8am-2:30pm, Beautiful U Day 8am-12pm, and Dr. Pat Welle (BSU) will speak on Environmental Economics. Saturday – National Youth Service Day Earth Day Extravaganza (community wide clean-up) – Email earthdayextraveganzagmail.com. 10-11am Social hour at UMC Gazebo with food and refreshments, 11am-2 pm community service projects, 2-6pm live music, games, and pizza at UMC mall.
